Fission Knitting Class
This two-session class will teach you Fission Knitting, a technique that allows you to place one cable pattern on one side of a garment, and a different cable pattern on the other! Unlike with double knitting, fission knitting produces a single-layer fabric, made with two strands of yarn purled together, then separated when knitting the cables.
The class fee includes 2 skeins of the luxuriously soft Juniper Moon Farm Herriot, which is 100% alpaca, which will make the Falling for Fission scarf pattern.
This is an intermediate class that requires participants to be comfortable with cables and with tracking detailed pattern changes. Comfort tearing out stitches is also helpful!
Class meets in person at Bonfire Bookstore & Yarnery over two Wednesdays: 11/5 and 11/12, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
Cost: $60 (includes $48 of yarn!)
Learn to Spin!
Have you always wanted to make your own yarn? Connect with thousands of years of fiber history by learning to spin on a drop spindle! This class will prepare you to move on (if you wish) to a spinning wheel.
