Hi! I'm Kara Garbe Balcerzak, owner of Bonfire Bookstore & Yarnery in Woodstock, Virginia. I'm a lifelong reader, the daughter & granddaughter of librarians, a third-generation knitter & crocheter, and a passionate advocate for the Oxford comma.

At Bonfire Bookstore & Yarnery, we believe in the power of the written word. We celebrate books as a source of inspiration, knowledge, escape, challenge, connection, empathy, and joy. We believe in putting down our phones in favor of a book, a puzzle piece, a deck of cards, or a skein of yarn.
